How we handle your information.

What we collect

The Smoke Signal: your email address, so we can send the updates you asked for.

Catering and host-a-stop inquiries: your name, email, phone number if you give one, and the event details you type in, so we can respond.

Pickup orders, once ordering opens: your name, mobile number, email, and what you ordered. Card details go straight to our payment processor and never touch our website.

How we use it

To do the thing you asked for: send the updates, answer the inquiry, or prepare the order. We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for anyone else's advertising.

Who helps us run the site

Our website and its forms are hosted by Netlify. Pickup payments and orders are handled by Square. Each processes information on our behalf under its own privacy terms.

What you send through our forms is stored in Netlify's secure storage and read only by our team in a password-protected back office.

The site saves your in-progress order in your own browser so it survives a reload. That stays on your device.

Cookies and tracking

The public website sets no cookies and runs no advertising or analytics trackers. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your browser's standard request details when it serves them. Our team's back office uses one sign-in cookie that is never set for guests.

How long we keep it

Inquiries are kept for up to two years so we can follow up and plan repeat events, then deleted. Smoke Signal addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Keeping it safe

The site runs over an encrypted connection, the back office is password protected, and forms are rate limited against abuse. No system is perfect, so please don't send sensitive details such as payment card numbers through a form.

Your choices

Every Smoke Signal email includes an unsubscribe link, and we honor it promptly. You can also ask us to remove you from the list, or to see, correct or delete an inquiry you sent, at any time. Until our public contact details are posted, send the request through the inquiry form and mention it in the notes.

Children

This website is meant for adults planning a meal or an event. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.
